if you read the pixie blog regularly (& i hope you do!) you'll already know how much i love bright colors! so you can imagine what a challenge it is for me to make the perfect card for my favorite auntie whose favorite color happens to be... WHITE!!! but thanks to the glamorously elegant pink paislee and tim holtz goodies in this month's pixie kit, LA DOLCE VITA, i think i've finally nailed it:

it just so happens that my aunt's next upcoming "occasion" is her wedding anniversary, which is a bit special to me, since, as a 12-year-old niece i was quite honored to be one of her bridesmaids!

i took a plain white mini-gift bag from the craft store and went a bit crazy with embellishments from the kit! you can see i've used the reverse of the pink paislee paper and one of their swirly "artisan elements" dimensional stickers, that i've doodled on with a silver pen. i used my hot glue gun to affix double layers of tim holtz trimmings across the top, with more of the trimmings fashioned into flowers and topped with coordinating buttons on the handles. finally i grabbed a bit of metallic embroidery floss to add a final festive touch!

when i was finished, i realized what a super-fancy mini giftbag needs most is a super-fancy mini CARD to fit perfectly inside it, so i made one of those using the leftover products from the bag. the sentiments are computer generated and printed on clear inkjet labels i buy at the office supply store.

and now i hope my aunt judie and uncle ron will love their anniversary present as much as i love them!!! ♥♥♥
