♥DREAM♥ banner by lauren bergold

how closely do your projects generally resemble your PLAN for them? i ask because sometimes mine seem to take on a life of their own and go in a direction i did not foresee at all... and this is one of those times!

i had intended using october's anniversary kit, BLUE MOON, to make a banner similar tothis one from last january. i thought it would be colorful and funky and feature pretty much a little bit of EVERYTHING from the kit. the finished banner is nothing like that, but it's maybe even better?

i'm not usually much of a "monochrome" gal, but somehow all of the soft tan, cream and white neutrals in the kit ganged up on me and just DEMANDED to be used together!

i cut the pennants from pink paislee's "divine damask" paper and backed them with kraft cardstock. the fabric thickers are nestled on medallions cut from american crafts' "hello sunshine" and the decorative valence at the top is punched from more pink paislee--this time the butterfly garden collection's "flower blooms".

i strung the banner from some pixie signature seam binding in a soft sandy color. between each pennant i've attached one of prima's gorgeous fabric "calcutta" blossoms.

i've embellished the panels with melody ross' whimsical little chipboard birds (you get a whole packet!) that i covered with vintage sheet music from the kit. i've given them a light coating of matte gel medium for extra resilliance!

this banner was a ♥DREAM♥ to make, and i hope it will be equally loved in its new home!

Kirsty's Note -
That is just truly a DREAM banner to have!!!!Thanks Pixie Lauren!!!!

Three of a Kind layout by Jill Sarginson

Hello there!

It's Jill back with one final project using Blue Moon, October's extraordinarily beautiful kit.

I found these papers so soft and pretty that I couldn't resist scrapping another layout of my daughter; this time with her two best friends. This layout is primarily made with blues from the kit.

I decided to use brown to accent this page - I used brown cardstock as the base layer and then inked all other layers on the page with brown ink. I cut out the brown shape accented with butterflies from the Prima - Madeline - Beautima paper and sprinkled brown paint on the blue background sheet with a toothbrush. I feel that the end result is a very cohesive looking layout.

Thank you for checking out my projects this month! It was a honour to be GDT for Pixie Dust Paperie!

Yet this is the norm with Pixie Dust Paperie kits and this Blue Moon kit is no exception. I once again was able to create NINE projects from this kit! Not only create NINE projects, but NINE projects with so many fun details...like these FAB epoxy stickers:

Once again you have to comment about the LOVELY papers:

I Love You Card by Jill Sarginson

Hello friends,

I am back again today to share another card I created using October's Blue Moon kit.

This card was made out of an assortment of products found in the kit. I had so much fun making this card - going through what was left of my kit and using a variety of the gorgeous product! What I find so fantastic about Pixie Dust Paperie kits is that everything blends together so well. When I first saw the strip of denim, I really wasn't sure how to incorporate that onto a project but look - I used it on this card and I think it looks amazing on it!

I started this card using the cream cardstock by American Crafts. I then inked a sheet of the dictionary page and layered that. Next up, I made a layer of the Pink Paislee - Butterfly Garden - dew drops paper (a doilie shape cut out) mounted on a circle of brown cardstock. From there, I adhered the denim strip along with the Seam binding ribbon - Bird Song. I then cut a couple of various sizes of circles out of the G45 tags and dictionary page and used the epoxy buttons to help finish off the main cluster of my card: the fairy (cut from a G45 tag) and the Prima - Flower - Calcutta dogwood.

I love this card and can't wait to give it to my daughter just because I love her. And because she loves fairies!

Thanks for visiting today!!

Kirsty's Note -
Such beautiful creation, thanks Jill!

blue moon cupcake g/c holder by lauren bergold

i cannot believe it's been a whole year since the pixie dust paperie made its debut. on the other hand, i find it difficult to remember just how i ever thought up and created projects without having a box FULL of perfectly matched papers and embellishments delivered to me each month!

the very first project i made last october, for the very first pixie dust kit, FALL IN LOVE, was a super-embellished cupcake gift-card holder made entirely of paper! it remains one of my favorite projects ever, and since it was surprisingly easy to accomplish, i thought i'd make another one with the "anniversary" kit, BLUE MOON. since the kit has quite a few lovely blue patterned papers, and my nephew matthew's fourth birthday is coming up, i thought it'd be fun to do a "boy" version:

i should mention immediately that i did not INVENT this project idea! i used the amazingtresa black's (aka the stamp goddessstep-by-step fabulously artsy cupcake tutorialand i highly recommend it both for creativity and wonderful clarity of instruction. oh and it's FUNNY, too! :)

i adapted the "recipe" slightly to accommodate the ingredients in the kit, but the only items taken from my stash are the styrofoam ball & clip, the wooden bead "cherry", and the lashings of clear glitter "icing sugar" on top! i did swap out punched scalloped circles for the paper flowers in the original, which i think makes it slightly more masculine. i've also used signature pixie seam binding in place of grosgrain ribbon, which looks EVEN MORE like fluffy frosting, don't you think?

as amazing as this project LOOKS... to me the best part is the sheer practicality of its also being a giftcard holder!

and whereas sometimes i've felt a bit guilty about giving an "impersonal" present, it's impossible to think that about a holder that's THIS COOL!

i hope you'll be inspired to check out the tutorial AND the BLUE MOON kit; and maybe treat yourself to a cupcake... to help us celebrate! :) :) :)

Kirsty's Note -
So yummy..... love it!!!
