Hummingbird Love by Lori Hairston

My mom and dad have a hummingbird feeder outside the dining room window at their house.  Those little hummingbirds are amazing!  I'm so thrilled when I get to see one.  This new Pixie Dust kit has some wonderful diecuts, of which the hummingbird is just one.  And the cool thing is that they are double sided, so you have double the choices!  The kit also comes with several sheets of music - love it!  I was so pleased to see the accounting paper frame, because I've been collecting my scraps of accounting paper at work.  I have to make a long recording sheet and have pieces left over.  I've been planning something fun, but just haven't gotten around to it yet!  Here you can see the cute Maya Road chipboard letters that come in the kit, not just "love" you get the whole package.
And of course, Pixie is becoming known for the great ribbons and embellishments included in the kits
You know I love seam binding ribbon!  The dark pink actually comes "smooth."  I cut some off, held it under the faucet and then wadded it up.  When it was dry I had the crinkly look I wanted for this card.

Kirsty's Note -
Thanks Lori, for another beautiful card! Don't you like all those diecuts Pixie Lauren come up with in this kit?

Pink, Brown and Mint Green by Lori Hairston

I love the colors in this sweet little card.
These papers make such a soft, pretty palette.  I love the vintage sheet music and the My Minds Eye dictionary paper.
I can't resist wrapping the cute metal roses around the seam binding ribbon...

Kirsty's Note -

Designer Day Three ~ Scallop Tags by Lori Hairston

This kit has so many pieces, it's great for making layers.  From stickers, to ribbon, to die cuts to pretty papers - it has it all.   These two scallop tags make use of all of that.
The heart, the crown, the bird, the open scallop circles are just a small portion of all the die cuts.  The blue and yellow flower border and the ticket and tiny tag don't even make a dent in the October Afternoon sticker sheet.  Look at the pretty brown grosgrain ribbon and rose ribbon.
I just cut off one of the roses and sewed it up a little tighter for use here.  You will certainly be amazed by all the goodies when this kit arrives on your doorstep!

Kirsty's Note -
These tags are absolutely beautiful, thanks Lori!

Je t'aime by Lori Hairston

I love tags!  They just make a package that much more special.  It's amazing how a great tag can take a brown paper bag to the next level.  I realized as I was taking this photo that the packaging I used to create this tag is actually from the November kit.  I must have mixed it in with all the November stuff!  But everything else is the December kit.  I love these crochet flowers.  They are so dressy!
I can't say enough about the MME papers.  They are just fabulous!
One of the fun things about this tag besides the background being "trash", is that the top is "trash" too!  I used the piece that is perforated that comes off the bottom of the paper and then stapled my sentiment to it.  Je t'aime!

Guy Card by Lori Hairston

Okay, guy cards can be kind of hard.  But, I seem to make a lot of them.  I do all the birthday cards at work and there are a lot of guys.  And I have several women who routinely special order cards for their husbands and sons.  I needed to make a birthday card and was looking through the fabulous December kit, when inspiration struck!
I aged one of the Tattered Angels cards and built the rest of the card around it.
The paper on the left side is actually a Christmas paper, but worked great here!  Hey, I just realized the paper on the right is the backside of a Christmas paper.  Very versatile!
There's a card of buttons that comes in this kit and the large brown one was perfect for this card.  This card is for a friend's son...think he'll like it?

Kirsty's Note -
Fabulous masculine card Lori! I too love how versatile these papers are, it can be use on a christmas project and when the season is over, you can use it on anything else, how cool is that!
All papers and yummy embellishments are from Pixie Dust Paperie December Kit, grab yours now at The Pixie Shop!

In Paris by Lori Hairston

We were in Paris about four years ago.  What a fantastic city!  This is my daughter, Lauren, in front of the Eiffel Tower.  The travel bingo card by Tattered Angels was a perfect backdrop for one of my favorite pictures.
(There's a strange blue glare on this photo.  How does that happen??)  These banner stickers...aren't they gorgeous?  Love the shape of them and that they're glittered, of course!
Everything I used is from the December kit.  It's got wonderful buttons, ribbon, flowers...everything you could want!

Kirsty's note -

Just so lovely..... Lori!!!

Happy Home! by Lori Hairston

I've been blessed my whole life to live in a happy home.  I had a happy childhood, an only child who never asked for a brother or sister.  My husband is wonderful and my daughter had to be the easiest child to raise ever!  When I saw that gorgeous My Mind's Eye paper with HAPPY and the pretty banner stickers that I could use to spell HOME, I knew what I would do.
I used a house that I had picked up awhile back at Hobby Lobby.  Look at this wonderful seam binding ribbon:  love the colors!
I used a Martha Stewart punch for that cute heart border.  The side of the house will give you an idea of some of the pretty papers that come in the December kit.
I used my Cricut to cut the chair for the back of the house and added more of that pretty seam binding and a oh, so pretty, flower center for the focal point of the ribbon.
"Chair"ished might be a little corny, but I like it!  Here's to Happy Homes everywhere!
