as much as i love dreaming up fanciful and romantic projects on which to use my pixie dust paperie kits, the fact remains that nearly everyone i know has a birthday every single year-- and they *all* need a handmade card! luckily this month's kit, BLUE MOON, has some lovely and practical ingredients that make it easy to whip up lovely cards in a snap. like these two, for example!
prima's beautima paper has a pretty pattern on one side and four 5.5" motifs on the other. they'd be brilliant as decorative journaling blocks on a layout, or as pages in a fun minibook... or even, perhaps... as the centerpieces of a couple of cards?! ;)
here i've paired them with creamy yellow fabric thickers, GCD "homespun chic" epoxy stickers, and a few fussy cut motifs from other papers in the kit. i also traced one of theGCD chipboard birds and cut it out twice, using the pretty pink backing paper from the epoxies!
i added in a little bit of hand-stitching as an extra touch. by far the easiest way to do this, imo, is to use a perfectly sized computer generated word as a shortcut. i wrote a little mini-tutorial on that subject over the summer, if you'd like a few tips.
now i just need to grab some envelopes and get these in the mail to a couple of special birthday girls! ♥
