the other good news--for us card-making types--is that a little clever cutting can "shrink" the perfectly balanced 12x12 designs...such as on the paper above...to a more useable size for greetings, and still leave us plenty of the reverse side's pretty plaid patterned leftovers!
once i had my more concentrated version of "simple pleasures" i didn't need much to finish my country style birthday card: a punched gingham edge, some girls' paperie alphas, baker's twine embroidery, and the word "birthday" cut out in my own handwriting... (there's a little explanation of that HERE) ...were sufficient to round out the design.
thanks for visiting...y'all come back now! :)
Kirsty's Note -
Great use of that DP from Webster's, and I love how you use the baker's twine around the lettering too!

Seriously, way to rock the Websters...I always hate to cover that gorgeous paper so I tend to hoard it...thanks so much for the fab inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fabulous card... so fresh and bright. I love the use of that b/w plaid paper (I adore all plaids). I just can't say enough about this card... beautiful!!!
