"enjoy the journey" card by lauren bergold

march's pixie dust kit is called MARY MARY QUITE CONTRARY which i think might be my favorite name ever! i like the way it sums up the spirit of the kit, and hints at the fun contradictions within: the colors are a mix of contrasting and complementary; the papers are a mix of funky and elegant; the embellishments are a mix of fun and fabulous! even *MARY* would have to cave and LOVE this one!!! :) here's a card where i enjoyed playing with those contradictions:

it's quite simple, because i wanted the sweet bike on glitz's "happy travels" paper to be the star of the show; but if you look closer, there are a lot of little details, like the tiny fussy-cut flowers from the floral paper, which i've layered to give the basket more dimension...

...and i've carefully machine-stitched over all the prominent lines of the bike, which you can see a bit in the close-up photo, but i have to say it is ever so much cooler in real life! finally, i made a sentiment with a few different crate paper stickers, and finished off with some of the my mind's eye "funday" buttons in the center of the bike's wheel:

i like the clean lines of this card, and also the reminder we can all use once in a while: that getting there is half the fun!!! ♥
