i think they came out pretty well, too! but then, when you start with "supermodels" half the work is already done, right?!
i mostly chose nice close-up photos of the kids' faces. and then i went "old-skool" and silhouetted the pics. (ok, ok, i know this technique was over-used in the early days of scrapbooking; but in my defense, for a project like this, it really makes their sweet faces STAND OUT!)
to prepare the ornament shapes, i used a permanent red marker on the edges, (so i wouldn't have to fit teeny strips of paper!) and traced the heart and star shapes onto patterned papers from the december pixie dust kit.
when hand-cutting, i always hold several layers of paper together, to save work; it's really no more effort than doing them one at a time! when i had all my hearts and stars cut out, i inked the edges and adhered them to the ornaments with my adhesive runner.
then came the FUN PART: placing a photo of each kid on an ornament and embellishing!
i diecut some hearts and stars..and layered up some of the fab embellies from the december kit: my mind's eye buttons, prima paper & crochet flowers, and those gorgeous sparkly red gems.

Kirsty's note -
Wow, your nieces and nephews are no doubt the cutest kid in town, I would keep the ornaments for myself if I were you!
