Christmas card with poinsettias by Zielonooka

Hello
It’s me Zielonooka.
Today I'm presenting a Christmas card, it’s very simple to do.
Poinsettias has been made follow by this tutorial. I added pearls and little Stickles Glitter Glue.
I printed out the inscription and it has been sticked on the 3D tape.

"CUTE" embellished frame by lauren bergold

as i've said before: i don't scrapbook, as such. which doesn't mean that i'm opposed to putting photos & paper & embellishments together in a fun way! :) when i saw the my mind's eye "CUTE" banner in the november pixie dust paperie kit, snow shoe, i knew i had to use it on something both larger and more lasting than a card.

a couple of weeks ago i was given this photograph of my young friends carlos and isabel, taken by their father. if ever there was a picture that positively screamed to be embellished with a "CUTE" banner, this is it, dontcha think?!

would you believe i found this 8x8" frame...which just happens to be the PERFECT shade of blue...right on the shelf at michaels? it was on sale, too! (SCORE!)

this project has quite a bit going on, but apart from the frame, the banner and the photo, i've only used PAPER to embellish it! the little boy and girl from the "daydreamer" paper, with their big eyes and sweet expressions, really reminded me of carlos and isabel, so i wanted them to stand out prominently; which is why i fussy cut them and attached them to the OUTSIDE of the frame. (i used small pieces of foam tape to support the tiny leaves and branches that stretch out over the glass.)

the various scalloppy layers are from the "green fields" paper; some are under and some are over the photo, but they are all inside the frame and under the glass. (i've also cut them apart & re-arranged them to fit my design better.) the birds are from that sheet, too; the butterflies are from a scrap of the "ode to joy" paper. the panels to the right and left under the photo are actually the reverse of the "daydreamer" paper.

i cannot wait to give this to carlos and isabel's parents...i am pretty sure they will agree the "CUTE" banner is 100% accurate!!! ♥

Designer Day 4 ~ "Oh Christmas Tree" Layout by Jessy Christopher

In Malaysia, we do not have four seasons. It is sunny all year long + rainy season every now and then or more towards the year end. I wish to experience snow one day and know how it feels to have white Christmas :)

I do not have many Christmas photos taken behind a Christmas tree or with any Christmas deco for the past 2 years since we have our active fur-kids. LOL! Trust me, they brought down the whole tree a couple of times!! I was digging thru my digital photos and found Christmas photos of my Papa Chris and my nephew, Contanstine that I have not scrapped! Phew! So here's another result using the Snow Shoe November kit...

In this kit, it has Echo Park products and they are so easy to use on layouts. The papers and the stickers are just so stunning!! To a point I didn't wanna use them. LOL :)

I wanted to do something special to the tree and I decided to do an origami Christmas tree. I used the Prima papers for the tree. The folds are so simple that you can use them on cards, layouts or even on your altered Christmas projects.

These folds are so simple that I decided to create a card too.

Designer Day 3 ~ "Happy Birthday" by Lori Hairston

We have soooo many April birthdays in my family that when I saw this cutie-pie paper, I knew it would make a great spring birthday card. 

 I die cut clouds, flowers, and hearts from  the other papers in the November kit and also added another little bird by the nest.

  The pink prima paper made a pretty rose accented with that sky blue seam binding ribbon. 

 The butterflies were cut from yet another paper and so was that sweet little pup. 

 I left the bottom portion blank so that I could write a personal note to the recipient.  I hope I remember I have this card when April arrives!

Designer Day 2 ~ "Bracket Frame" by Zielonooka

Hello

It’s me Zielonooka.

Today I’m presenting my first work from the November kit.
It is a bracket frame which shows my daughter with cat on the summer vacation.
Hana loves cats, so do I.

Everything what was used to this project you can find in a kit (except Liquid Pearls and Stickles Glitter Glue).



This white lace doilies was cut off from the Prima flowers package, don’t you think that they are beautiful?

Designer Day 1 ~ lauren bergold's happy little christmas trees

have you ever made something and it looked completely ADORABLE in real life, but only kind of cute in the photos? well, that's what happened to me with these happy little holiday trees...so you'll have to trust me when i tell you they're better than they look!

or better yet, why not grab november's awesome SNOW SHOE kit from the pixie dust shoppe and make your own, and then you can see for yourself! these babies were SUPER-easy to make and would be a fun project to do with kids...though a mom or dad is required for wielding the hot glue gun.

the base of these are the styrofoam tree forms you find in the floral department of craft stores. i left one full-sized (about 6.5" tall) and trimmed the other a bit shorter for variety. the foliage is nothing but 1.5" punched scallopped circles that have been inked around the edges and cut in half. you'll need about 40 circles for the big tree and another 25 or so for the smaller one. (you could also use un-scallopped circles, for that matter, or simple flower shapes, or even upside down hearts!) i used my thumbnail to curve the edges very slightly so that the layers would have a tiny bit of dimension.

once you have all of your punched shapes ready to go, it's time to start layering them, shingle-like, on your trees, securing each one with a thin line of hot glue placed along the straight edge of the half circle. the very first layer (at the bottom of the tree) needs to be put on with the straight side of the half circle facing *DOWN*; all the rest will have the scallops down. i overlapped them a bit from side to side, but don't worry if you have a teeny gap, by off-setting the placement, the row above can hide any small flaws!

at the top of my trees i have made a little decoration by gathering a length of signature pixie dust seam binding (that comes in EVERY pixie kit!) with needle and thread, and securing it on the tree with more hot glue. this forms a little base for one of the gorgeous dimensional prima rosebuds to act as a finishing touch.

i did stray very verrrrry slightly and add an item out of my own stash at the very end: i could not resist adding some green rhinestones to give a tiny bit of sparkle...because christmas trees should *ALWAYS* sparkle, in my opinion!
