pastel baby card by Lauren Bergold

pink and blue are the traditional colors for babies, and don't get me wrong, i love pink and blue...but...i think i have a new favorite color scheme for baby cards: yellow, green, and dove grey. also, i've decided that the conventional wisdom of never pairing white and cream is a rule that can occasionally be broken quite nicely! :)

i've used the cream lace and green trim from the websters' pages trim collection, and a couple of maya road blossoms to add lots of texture to this simple card. i used a border punch on one of the melissa frances papers, and fussy-cut around the pattern elements of two others.

the text was formatted in wordpad and printed it on an avery clear label which i affixed to a matted panel cut with nestabilities and raised above the base of the card on foam tape. "babies" is composed of the maya road mini chipboard alphas tinted with a white colorbox ink pad. if you think those letter b's look fancier than the ones in the pack--well spotted! having used both of mine in another project, i converted a couple of letter g's to the purpose, and i love the ornate look they give my title!

"For You" card by Jessy Christopher

Do you love giving yourself a little challenge every now and then? For this card, I decided to give myself one. I created this card mostly using Webster's Pages stickers to embellish the card. Of course the papers and the alpha enhanced the card as well. I was really enjoying the process of using almost every single piece of stickers I can get my hands on. It's so simple and the result is pretty. Remember what I told you earlier? "Fall In Love" kit has endless possibilities and wait no longer. Grab one today!

xoxo Jessy

thank you mini-cards by Lauren Bergold

for someone who does not scrapbook, as such, i have bought A LOT of journaling tags; i use them quite often in card-making! these maya road kraft ones were instant favorites for their variety of designs and utterly practical size. at 3x3" they would hold just enough journaling on a layout, or they could be the base of some super-fun mini thank you cards! like this:
crowns are absolutely always fun, imo; here i've colored the miniature maya road chipboard ones with a silver inkpad, embossed them with my cuttlebug, and used them as a whimsical embellishment to diecut 3-part hearts in which i have mixed and matched scraps of patterned papers from the october pixie dust paperie kit. offcuts of the kit's cardstock from other projects formed my 3.25" cardbases, and all i needed to complete the set were a few staples, some dymo-label sentiments, and lots of wonky machine stitching for texture...and to hold everything securely on my cards!

i think i will be making more sets like this in future, as they are a brilliant way to "clean up" my scraps...and it's always useful to have some little thank you notes on hand, isn't it?! :)

I've decided to make a sweet pea card for a new mother

This little rose bud here is made with the trim that came with the kit
All the little stickers, the blue and brown polka dot frame are from the sticker sheet in the kit too, but in case you love it so much and want another one, you could get it at our Pixie Store as an add on too.

"You're so Tweet!" by Lori Hairston

I just have to say it: I think this card is so tweet! It's Lori, with a card for you. Just about everything is from the October kit. I love the kraft journal spots from Maya Road. They are fabulous! Don't the papers look pretty with the journal spot? I also have to say that the cardstock in this kit is quite nice - very thick with a nice texture. The pink is a great color. It's very pretty framing that cute little bird.
I roughed up the pretty pink flower a bit, added buttons from the kit, and of course, that pretty seam binding ribbon.

Kirsty's note -
This is really "tweet" Lori! Thanks!

Be back tomorrow for another beautiful project!

Altered Watering Can by Jessy Christopher

Hey hey!! It's Jessy in the Pixie House again! Recently I purchased a tiny watering can and I thought it would be so cool to give it a little treatment. Well it can be a special gift to cheer someone up too! And what better way to do it with the "Fall In Love" Oct kit I am left with. Gosh, there are endless possibilities with this kit!

It is pretty simple to alter the watering can. So here's the recipe...

1. First, I punched the Melissa Frances & American Craft patterned papers using 2 different edge punches by EK Success. Applied glue all over the papers and sticked them around the can.

2. Sticked the Webster's Pages Lullaby Lane stickers onto the layered patterned papers.

3. Wrapped the spout with the Sweet Pink Crinkled Ribbon.

4. Lastly, I tied the Sweet Pink Crinkled Ribbon at the handle and added a Dear Lizzy fabric button.

I hope you enjoy this simple altered watering can tutorial!!

Xoxo Jessy

Kirsty's note -
This is adorable Jessy! And thanks for the tutorial!
