paris collage card by lauren bergold

i think i might have a new favorite color combination: pale blue and chocolate brown! want to know why? just look at this card i made using some of the goodies in the december pixie dust paperie kit, CHRISTMAS IN PARIS:

how rich & luscious is that brown polka dotted paper from prima's printery collection? and how cool is the vintage "tour eiffel" from GCD's paris nights line? of course, a collage with this many elements had to be a lot of work, right? what with all that fussy-cutting and such? let's take a closer look:

and now i will tell you a secret: nearly all of those lovely little "bits and pieces" were either pre-cut elements from the kit (the graphic 45 tags & the little round elements, the glitz design frame) or diecuts (the flourish and paper flowers) that i made using my cuttlebug! ok, i *did* hand-cut the smaller butterflies, but mostly i just combined ready-made items, layering them with those beautiful prima fabric blooms and a tim holtz metal charm that i distressed with a little white gesso!

will i be telling my friend lelia that, when i present her birthday card? hmmmm...maybe not... but if she asks, of course i'll tell her the truth, "you are worth any amount of work, cherie!!!" ;)

If you've got a quick minute, I've got my house all decorated for Christmas and pics on my Whimsical Musings blog (my main one.) I hope you'll stop over for some virtual egg nog and make yourself at home!!!
